The Right Job

As my last post on a blog (at least for English) I will talk about some really important thing about jobs.
What is the right job?

To answer to that question I should ask first: what is a job for you?

Well, if for you a job is just a way to get money to survive or to allow you to have the things you like, then we have a bad start point.

You know, to be successful in the professional world, you need to think in another way.

You need to be doing something you like to do. Ok it might not be your dreams, but you need to like it somehow.

Don't be like this guy:

You should face your job with a smile, with your arms open. You need to work! Why shouldn’t you do something you actually like to do? When you work in something you like, you actually get successful! You just need to work for it, and you will for sure if you really like it.

The right job is like a woman (I am a man). If you really love it, if you really fight to achieve your aims, you have more chances to get successful.(Unfortunately, like a woman, if you have a larger bank account it is also easier to get a job…)

The economical issue is important, but first you should try something you like to do, because as I said before, if you like it, you will “rich” it.

Cinema

The cinema is called “the seventh art” because, in century XX, it was auditioned to the other six arts: architecture, literature, painting, music, dance and sculpture. In contrast of what it happens with those, these one have a date to commemorate his birth, the birth of the cinema (December of 1895). It was when the Lumière brothers promoted in Paris the first public session of their invention, the cinematograph, showing daily scenes.

Those days, there were people who said that it was just a matter of time until people stop having interest in it.

Well, as everybody has already noticed, nowadays, cinema is a huge world where amazing things can be made. Every years there are a huge amount of movies being released and others being made.

Due to high technology, in the present, almost everything can be done in a movie. To make a good movie its needed a big team with different jobs.
The ones who appear in the movies are the actors, which are people who represent a character in the movie.

In my opinion this was one of the biggest inventions of the man, because it can show us things beyond our imagination.

I love cinema, almost every kind o movies (action, terror, scientific fiction, animation…I don´t like stupid romances).

Child Labor

The child labor is a form of work where children and adolescents, below of the allowed age to work, are forced to work in order to earn money (most of times not for them).

This work is, in general, forbidden by law. Specifically, the most harmful and cruel forms of work not only are forbidden, but also constitute crime.

This type of work is common in underdeveloped countries. An example of those countries is Africa, where in the poor regions this work is common. The majority of the times this occurs due to the necessity to help the family financially. Many of those families are generally poor people who have many children.

Although there are laws who forbid officially this type of work, it is common in the great cities of underdeveloped.

Parents are officially responsible for their children but the juridical system don´t usually punish them. The action of justice is normally applied to the ones who contracts minors, however those penalties are never applied.

Computer Science

Computer Science studies the theoretical part of computation and its practical implementation into the computer systems.
It has various sub-fields:
- Theory of computation (tries to answer questions such as: 'what can be computed?' and 'what amount of resources are required to perform (that) computation?';
- Theoretical computer science (includes the classical theory of computation and other topics, such as, the logical and mathematical aspects of computing;
- Programming methodology and languages, which includes programming languages (Pascal, Java, C++, etc.) and compilers;
- Computer elements and architecture (includes: digital logic, micro-architecture and multiprocessing);
- Numerical and symbolic computation;
- Human-computer interaction (to make computers easier to use for many people).

A good example of a successful computing project applied to biology is Folding@home. It is being developed by Stanford University and it lets people use their personal computers (or even a playstation 3) to help the scientific community 'to understand protein folding, misfolding, and related diseases.'

Part-time job

A part-time job, as the name says, is a job with less hours of work than a normal full-time job. The number of people working in part-time jobs has been increasing in most of the developed countries.
That increase, in my point of view, is probably because of teens/students who want to earn some money (to buy something they want).
Although part-time jobs have all those good things, they might make some students to study less, since they reduce their free time.

Special Cook

A cook is a person who makes the food in restaurants, hotels, hospitals, etc.

A cook´s work is to stay in the kitchen and prepare food for others. Usually, their boss is the chef cook, which is the one in charge of the kitchen.

But sometimes people have special talents… In the next case u can see what a simple cook can do :)

Now you guys should be thinking: "What the **** ???Is this guy stoned???"

Well, i posted this because i think that everyone is unique and as such, each one have his special gifts and talents. This means that people shouldn´t be discriminated just because they don´t have a well remunerable job.

S.W.A.T

In the United States, SWAT is the most common name for a specialized unit of police in the departments of great cities. But, Swat - SPECIAL WEAPONS AND TACTICS - is a based police concept where highly trained and well disciplined soldiers are equipped and trained to be able to reduce the risk associated with an emergency situation.

This can include attacks from specific targets, such as: armed criminals in strong sheltered places, warrants of arrest of high risk and operations with located hostages and deactivation of explosive devices, beyond activities as escort VIP and combat to the “internal enemy” (terrorist infiltrated in ground American). The policemen of the SWAT are equipped with an armament differentiated of the patrol crafts, including submachine guns, carbines and grenades, beyond rifles and snipers.

Medicine

Medicine is one of the areas where human knowledge is connected with the hability to heal people. It works, in an ample direction, with the prevention and cure of illnesses in a medical context.

According to World-wide Organization of Health, it is not only the illness absence. It consists in the complete physicist, mental, psychological and social welfare.

Medicine is a cumulative state, which must be promoted through the life to make sure that its benefits are integrally enjoyed in the future.

Contemporary medicine applies health science, biomedical research, and medical technology to diagnose and treat injury and disease, typically through medication, surgery, or some other form of therapy.

Multiple Careers

I decided to make this post because, during an English class, our teacher talked about this topic.
She told us that this concept will be very important in the future, because many people will have more than one career during their lifespan.
And I'm concerned about it, because it will probably affect me. It might be good to have more than one career, because it's probably boring to do the same things during all the life. At least it's what I think. And there's also another good thing in that: we'll achieve more varied knowledge during our life than many people of the previous generation.
But it might also be a difficult challenge, because we'll have to work harder to be very good at each career.
Well, lets see how much careers will I have during my lifespan.

Multi-Tasking Madness

This problem affects many people who work, mainly those who work in offices.
You're probably asking yourself: 'What is that thing of multi-tasking madness?'. Watch this video. You'll understand better what is it after watching it.

Well, is it clearer now?
As you've seen in the video, multi-tasking madness is a problem related to carrying out multiple tasks at the same time.
The brain of the human beings has a good ability to change from one though to another, but it isn't as good as it looks. If we start performing more than one task at the same time, we will have more difficulties to finish them, than if we did each one separately, because, while we're doing part of one, we're thinking about the other tasks and we can't concentrate on the one we're doing.

There are some advices over the Internet to help people with this problem.
- Estimate the time you need to perform a certain number of tasks and then make the difference between the time you needed to do those tasks and the estimated time. Then, use that difference to help you estimating the time you need to perform future tasks.
- Use an external memory to help you making lists of things you need to do. This will reduce your probability of forgetting to do something.
- Try to start a task and complete it without interruptions. You may need to turn off some things (like messenger, skype, cellular phone, etc.).
- You should take some breaks (watch films, go out for a walk, etc.), so you won't start being boring. For me, that's the most important one .

The Job Makers

--------------- Education------- Professional formation------- Knowledge

What more do you need for a job? If you look at the classified, you surely notice that the number of jobs that require a licentiate degree is getting bigger.

So I started to wonder:

Q: How do I earn that title?
A: Studying.

Q: Where do I study?
A: At school.

Q : Who teaches you?
A: A Teacher!

Teacher, by my line of though, is the job that gives jobs!

Admit it, if you work now and if you have a good job, you owe that to your teachers. They made you in the employee you are, and believe, today, the most success the teacher is to transmit his/her knowledge to you, the easier you get a good job.

Some say: Teachers? Pff… Those $&%# that don’t make a $&%# and still have one extra free day in a week and 4 month vacations?

Well, those who think that, don’t realize how hard is a teacher’s work.

JUST think in one thing: you have to put up with annoying kids all day long! Every days! Whit that in the equation, they surely deserve all the extra free time!

It is a very important job nowadays, and I must admit:

I am happy to have teachers blowing up my mind.

Dirty Heroes

Today’s job market is one of the most diverse things ever known. If you look at it, its something positive! With the actual economical situation, having a great diversity of jobs from which to choose is a very nice good. But with such diversity, we will have “interesting” jobs like the one on the following video:

Yeuh! What a… Dirty Job!

In our society, to achieve the comforts we actually have, some people got to have some less clean jobs. This one is one of them.

Geoducks are a kind of giant clams, very appreciated by Japanese. As you could see, they grow up in the middle of the mud, approximately 1 meter below the surface. There comes the dirty part! You need to go into the mud with a water hose and grab them! Would you do it?

Well it is a very lucrative job. It is like taking out cash from the mud! Won’t you do it?

Your answer? Yes I would, if it was really cash, not those disgusting things!

You are probably not Japanese, so you might don’t understand why someone would like geoducks. But imagine… let see a hamburger! Do you know how do most cows in a farm get pregnant? Well a clue: someone have to get his hand in a very dirty place…

So, bow to your heroes: the dirty jobs workers!

Is that a Job?

Some days ago, wondering about what to post here, I suddenly Isaw a new on the TV.
It was about a British who had won the Best Job in the World.

So I started to search about it, and then… I really started thinking: Is that a Job?

http://www.islandreefjob.com/#/about-the-job/employment

So, let’s make it into topics:

-13851€/month;

-Working in a paradisiacal island;

-Being allowed to invite families and friends for free;

Hum… Is this Work?? Not for me! This is being paid to be on vacations! It is indubitably the best job in the world! It is sad there is just one spot to fill…

Ok, now back to serious stuff.

This is my first of four posts in this Blog: Jooooob World!

Here we will discuss several professions; if they are well paid, fun, good or bad for the employee’s social and familiar life…

We will try not to convince to apply for any particular job, but… my suggestion: try this one. It is the BEST job in the World.
